Designed by KicKee’s founder, Aerin Nicole, and woven in Japan by expert artisans, Otter and Moon was born from a desire to offer something truly timeless: blankets that are beautiful, breathable, and heirloom-quality — without sacrificing everyday functionality.

What makes these blankets so special?

Let’s start with the materials. Otter and Moon uses two types of premium muslin, each chosen for a specific purpose and feel:

Made using a special “angel spin” technique, these swaddles are crafted from ultra-fine threads that create a featherlight, silky-soft fabric. It’s the perfect choice for wrapping your newborn in a cocoon of comfort, and the generous size means this swaddle will last as your little one grows.

Lightweight, breathable, and incredibly gentle, our 3-ply muslin swaddles are ideal for everything from naps to nursing covers to stroller rides. All prints are jacquard meaning no printing is used in Otter and Moon blankets! This is softness you can feel — and your baby will too.

Our 6-ply muslin blankets are designed for everyday comfort with a touch of luxury. Using a traditional jacquard weaving technique, each pattern is woven (not printed) directly into the fabric, creating a reversible design with beautiful texture and depth. The multiple layers provide a cozy-yet-breathable weight that works across all seasons — not too heavy, never too hot.
